An Everyday Tale of a Seeker of Gold is a Text-Adventure made by John Wilson[1][2]. Together with Bulbo and the Lizard King and Fuddo and Slam it formed The Balrogian Trilogy.[3] It is the prequel to Retarded Creatures and Caverns.[1][3]

The game is a parody of the 1982 video game The Hobbit.[3] It was originally supposed to be called The Boggit, but Delta 4 Software had already released a game with that name, so Wilson changed the title.
