Carandrian was an Ent of Quickbeam's folk, according to the draft version of the chapter Flotsam and Jetsam.[1]
History
Carandrian was a friend of Quickbeam, and one of the Ents that took part in the Battle of Isengard; during the battle he was injured by an axe, which enraged the rest of the Ents.[1]
Etymology
The name Carandrian is in Noldorin. Its meaning is unclear, but it might contain the element caran ("red"), according to Roman Rausch.[2]
