Ecglaf[1] was a farmer of Rohan.
Ecglaf is an original creation for The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers film.
History
Ecglaf was a courageous Man of Rohan during the Third Age. He worked as a farmer in a village in Rohan. His village was ransacked by forces under command from Isengard and he fled to the capital of Edoras.
Anticipating an attack on the capital of Edoras, Théoden King fled with the Rohirrim to the fortress of the Hornburg in Helm's Deep. When Aragorn reported that Saruman the White had sent a force of over ten thousand Uruk-hai to assail the Hornburg, Théoden ordered every man and strong boy able to bear arms to prepare for battle. Ecglaf equipped himself with a helmet and was given a spear by another Rohir.
