Grimir[1][2] was a Dwarf of Erebor who traveled to Rivendell with the envoys who attended the the Council of Elrond.
Grimir is an original creation for The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring film.
History
Grimir was a Dwarf of the Third Age, who spent many years in exile with the Dwarves of Erebor while Smaug ruled the Lonely Mountain. Though old and grey by the time Elrond, Lord of Rivendell, called the Council of Elrond, he could still wield his axe with strength.
The Council invited representatives of factions of the Free peoples of Middle-earth to the Council, which aimed to answer the growing threat of Sauron. The King under the Mountain Dáin Ironfoot sent multiple emissaries to attend: Farin, Gimli and Thrarin. Grimir and Glóin accompanied them, and they entered Rivendell with Gimli, Glóin's son.
