Year of the Trees 1492 (abbreviated to Y.T. 1492) is the 1492nd year of the Trees in the First Age of Arda. Year of the Trees 1492 was also V.Y. 4992 in Valian Years.
Notable events in this year include:
- Melkor appears in Formenos and speaks with Fëanor, but Fëanor sends him away realising that Melkor covets the Silmarils.[1]
- Finwë sends messengers to Manwë warning him of what happened at Formenos.[1]
- Oromë and Tulkas set out in pursuit of Melkor, but he had already passed through the Calacirya and left Valinor.[1]
- Melkor meets with Ungoliant in Avathar and they begin their plan of the destruction of the Two Trees.[1]
