There exist many typefaces or font families based on J.R.R. Tolkien's work or its adaptations.

Tengwar

Smith layout

These are typefaces that use Dan Smith’s 1998 encoding, or use encodings derived from it (such as adding OpenType features). This means they replace Latin letters with Tengwar glyphs.

Unicode fonts

These typefaces follow the code points assigned in the ConScript Unicode Registry, as championed by the Tengwar Free Font Project. This allows them to also support other scripts.
