Avathar is a Finnish black metal band whose works are inspired by the writings of J.R.R. Tolkien. They name Austrian black metal band Summoning as one of their main musical influences.
History
Inspired by the works of Tolkien, Avathar were founded in 2000 as a two-man project of Witch king and Scatha.[1]
Their work is inspired by the Austrian black metal band Summoning, however their work makes greater use of keyboards and vocals, and the approach to their is in creating soundtracks.[2]
