Benrodir was the "prince of Anárion" whose name appears in the early drafts of The Lord of the Rings. He is mentioned in a sketch alongside Nosdiligand and Inram as one of the leaders of Gondor that came to the aid of Minas Tirith during the War of the Ring.[1] Nothing else is known about him, as he appears nowhere else in the legendarium.

Etymology

According to Eldamo the name Benrodir is in Noldorin. Roman Rausch suggests that the second element of the name could be rodir ("nobleman"), composed of raud ("noble, eminent; lofty, high, tall; excellent") and dîr ("man").[2]
