Capalini were most likely the fays of springs, according to the early version of the legendarium associated with The Book of Lost Tales.[1]
Etymology
The name Capalini is in Qenya, probably being related to the word kapalinda ("spring of water"),[1] with kapalinda being derived from the root KAPA ("leap, spring").[2]
