The Captain of Gondor was a military title and position of Gondor.
Prince Eärnur held the title Captain of Gondor leading the Host of the West against Angmar in the Battle of Fornost.[1]
A millennium later, Faramir also held the title, as the leader of the Rangers of Ithilien.[2]
