Dol Guldur is the third full-length studio album by Summoning and was released in 1997. The name is a reference to Dol Guldur, the stronghold of Sauron located in the south of Mirkwood. J.R.R. Tolkien is credited for the lyrics alongside P.K. of the band Abigor.[1] The cover artwork was adapted from the painting "Middle Earth" by Roger Garland and the Ottenstein reservoir showing the ruins of Lichtenfels Castle.[1]
