Fourth Age 217 (abbreviated to Fo.A. 217 or F.O.) is the 217th year of the Sun of the Fourth Age of Middle-earth. Unless otherwise stated, Tolkien Gateway follows Shire usage in Appendix B for reckoning Fourth Age years: Fourth Age 217 was also known as S.R. 1638 in Shire-reckoning.

- Berelach, Borlas's son, is given a high command and he spends much time at sea, causing his visits to Pen-arduin to see his father become short and not very often.[1] In the second edition of The Lord of the Rings, the date of Aragorn's death was ultimately changed by J.R.R. Tolkien from Fo.A. 100 (as in the first edition) to Fo.A. 120.[2]
