History
Gorbulas was the son of Orgulas Brandybuck, the younger son of the Master of Buckland. He had one son himself, Marmadas Brandybuck. He died some time before Bilbo's Farewell Party.[1]
Etymology
The meaning of the name Gorbulas is unknown. J.R.R. Tolkien noted that the names of the Bucklanders had a vaguely Celtic style.[2] Jim Allan suggests that the name Gorbulas combines the first part of Gorbadoc with the second part of Orgulas.[3]
