On 1 June 1966, J.R.R. Tolkien wrote a letter to Royston F. Porthouse, a reader in Australia.[1]

  • Subject: Replying to a letter of appreciation, Tolkien says "I am always pleased to hear from people who have read and enjoyed my books", and adds in a postscript: "My next book will be called The Silmarillion. It is about the First and Second Ages."
  • Description: Typed letter, signed. Size: 5.5" x 7".
