The Osgiliath Fords[1] was an area in the city of Osgiliath where some bridges were built. One of them housed the Dome of Stars.[2] The river they crossed over was the Anduin a large and mighty river.
Eventually, these fords and bridges were abandoned along with the rest of the city when Sauron launched a full scale attack.
