Swallows are a type of bird. They are referenced frequently within the legendarium.
- In The Tale of Tinúviel, it is noted that Timpinen would depart the area around the Cottage of Lost Play in a grey magic boat before autumn, and the swallows drew him far away.[1]:7
- In Gnomish, the word for swallow is "duilin", with the Qenya cognate being "tuilindo" which translates to "spring-singer"
