Differences
This scene is based off The Houses of Healing, some events from The Pyre of Denethor are modified and included in this scene.
- Éomer saw Éowyn's body during the battle and believed her to be dead causing him and his army to fight even more fiercely.[1]
- Éowyn's body was brought to the Houses of Healing, Éomer did not discover that she was still alive until he asked Prince Imrahil where her body was and was told that she was still alive.[2]
- Pippin was sent by Gandalf to look for Merry.[2] He searched inside the city and found him inside the Gate of Minas Tirith.[1] In the subsequent scene (Pippin Looks After Merry) Pippin finds Merry in the Pelennor Fields.
- Aragorn was not in the Houses of Healing until Gandalf summoned him upon hearing the prophecy "The hands of a king are the hands of a healer".[1]
- Those who had suffered from the Black Breath were unable to be healed by any ruler but Aragorn. This is not shown in the movie.
