Features
- Highlight any keyword on any website, right click and select "Search in Tolkien Gateway" to immediately be taken to the respective article.
- Curious what chapter and paragraph a particular quote comes from? Simply highlight any quote from Tolkien's works, right click, and select "Lookup Tolkien Reference" to be directed to the reference on the Digital Tolkien Project.
- Optionally, you can choose to hide LotR Fandom results from Google, or simply redirect LotR Fandom's articles to the relevant article on Tolkien Gateway.
Coming Soon
- The ability to type "Aule" or any Tolkien term which needs accents, and the extension will automatically convert it to "Aulë" to eliminate the need for Alt Codes.
- Search Tolkien Gateway directly from the extension, or from the browser address bar.

Add Tolkien Gateway as a Bookmark
- Simply click on the star icon directly to the right of the website address.
Add Tolkien Gateway as a Search Engine
- On your computer, open Google Chrome.
- At the top right, click the three dots, then "Settings".
- On the left, click "Search engine" and then "Manage search engines and site search".
- Click "Add" next to the "Site search" section
- Search Engine: Tolkien Gateway
- Shortcut: tolkien (or whatever keyword you'd like to use)

Once you click save, you'll now be able to type "tolkien gandalf" for example in the address bar at the top of your screen, and you will be taken directly to our Gandalf article.
Indie Wiki Buddy

- When you visit a wiki owned by Fandom, Inc., Indie Wiki Buddy will notify or automatically redirect you to independent wikis when available
