Tolkien 'Signature' Paperback Series unofficially refers to a series of new editions (or reprints) of some core Tolkien-books published by HarperCollins, it started in 2022 and is ongoing as of 2025.
This new format is a trade paperback with a uniform dimension and matching cover designs, which features an elegant mono-colored background with J.R.R. Tolkien's signature on the top, in the center is a pattern or artwork relevant to the book's content.
The series started in 2022 with The Hobbit and the 3-volume The Lord of the Rings, then in 2023 extending to The Silmarillion, Unfinished Tales, 12 volumes of The History of Middle-earth plus the Index, and also the three "Great Tales".
In 2024 shorter works Tales from the Perilous Realm, The Adventures of Tom Bombadil, and Farmer Giles of Ham were released in this format, and from 2025 it also includes Roverandom, Smith of Wootton Major, and Tree and Leaf.
Also released in 2025 are The Road to Middle-earth, Tolkien On Fairy-stories, The Nature of Middle-earth, and then Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, The Legend of Sigurd and Gudrún, The Story of Kullervo, A Secret Vice, and then Finn and Hengest, The Monsters and the Critics.
