Weland[1] was a smith and horse tender of Rohan
Weland is an original creation for The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers film.
History
Weland was a Man of Rohan during the Third Age. He worked as a smith and horse tender in the Riddermark.
Anticipating an attack on the capital of Edoras, Théoden King fled with the Rohirrim to the fortress of the Hornburg in Helm's Deep. Weland found much work at Helm's Deep, tending to many Riders' horses. When Aragorn reported that Saruman the White had sent a force of over ten thousand Uruk-hai to assail the Hornburg, Théoden ordered every man and strong boy able to bear arms to prepare for battle. Weland armoured himself and when the Uruks arrived, he fought in the Battle of the Hornburg.
