Year of the Trees 1125 (abbreviated to Y.T. 1125) is the 1125th year of the Trees in the First Age of Arda. Year of the Trees 1125 was also V.Y. 4625 in Valian Years.
Notable events in this year include:
- The Vanyar and the Noldor cross the Blue Mountains and reach Beleriand. Passing over the Vale of Sirion they reach the shores of the Great Sea and become afraid. Oromë returns to Valinor.[1]
Other versions of the legendarium
The Grey Annals date the arrival of the Noldor and Vanyar in Beleriand to 1115 and make no mention of the Second Sundering. Christopher Tolkien notes in the preface to the Annals of Aman: "The dates of the annals of the Years of the Trees were changed very frequently – in some cases there are as many as six substitutions – and I give only the final form." Thus, one of the two dates seems to be a remnant of an earlier draft.
