Year of the Trees 1500 (abbreviated to Y.T. 1500) is the 1500th year of the Trees in the First Age of Arda. Year of the Trees 1500 was also V.Y. 5000 in Valian Years.
Notable events in this year include:
- The Valar complete the creation of the Sun and the Moon, which will be guided by the Maiar Arien and Tilion, respectively.[1][2]
- The Valar put great towers and sentinels around the Calacirya. From now, Valinor became hidden with the Enchanted Isles set about Tol Eressëa.[1][3]
- The Moon rises above the World for the first time; Tilion traverses the heavens seven times before the coming of the Sun.[1][2]
- At the first moonrise,[1][2] the host of Fingolfin set foot upon Middle-earth after crossing the Helcaraxë with grievous losses.[4][5][6]
- Battle of the Lammoth is fought and Fingolfin's youngest son Argon is slain.[7]
