Dínendal[1][2] was a Elf of Mirkwood who later became a Galadhrim of Lothlórien.
Dínendal is an original creation for The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring film. He is portrayed by Jonathan Harding.[3][4]
History
Dínendal was an Elven archer of Mirkwood. Eventually, he left Mirkwood for the kingdom of Lothlórien and became a Scout of the Galadhrim.
As part of a company led by Haldir, Dínendal helped capture intruders on the outskirts of the forest. These individuals turned out to be the Fellowship of the Ring, a company on a quest to destroy the One Ring. They brought the Fellowship to a tree lookout to discuss their prescence. Eventually, Aragorn convinced Haldir to take them in, as they were in need of protection. Haldir and the Elves brought the Fellowship to Caras Galadhon to meet with Lord Celeborn and Lady Galadriel.
