Douglas Chaffee (24 January 1936–26 April 2011) was an American artist who first rose to prominence as a space age illustrator, as head of IBM's art department. Later he became a freelancer, illustrating many books and games. Iron Crown Enterprises contracted him to make artwork for the Middle-earth Collectible Card Game.[1]
