Oxonmoot 2025, the 52nd annual Oxonmoot hosted by The Tolkien Society celebrating the life and works of J.R.R. Tolkien. The event took place from the afternoon of Thursday 4 until the afternoon of Sunday 7 September 2025 at St Ann's College, Oxford. As in the previous years, it was a hybrid event both in-person and online participation.
Overview
Oxonmoot is a long-standing tradition that brings together Tolkien enthusiasts, scholars, students, and fans from around the world. The 2025 edition continued this legacy with a rich programme of academic and creative activities, social events, and commemorations.
Online participation was facilitated via Zoom webinars, meetings and themed breakout rooms, as well as dedicated channels in the Tolkien Society Discord server for chat and voice and video discussion.
The official Oxonmoot 2025 t-shirt was designed by Matěj Čadil. The design is titled "The Star of Hope" and it depicts the poignant moment of Samwise Gamgee seeing the star of Eärendil piercing the darkness, serving as a symbol of hope.[1]
